Jubbaland Darawish Forces foil Al-Shabaab attack in Jana Abdalle area, kill six terror cells

The Jubbaland Darawish army in the area of ​​Jana Abdalle, west of Kismayo town in the Lower Jubba region of Somalia have today morning around 7:30 a.m thwarted a planned attack by the Al Shabaab terrorist group.

The Jubbaland Darawish army, who were at the time conducting security patrols to monitor the activities of the Al-Shabaab terrorist group, have thwarted the imminent planned attack by the group.

The terrorist group launched the attack from the side of the Sariraha road west of Jana Abdalle and simultaneously from a road from Libaxley area, according to a report to radio Kismayo by the commander of the second battalion of the Jubbaland Darawish Army, Mohamud Abdi Cilmooge.

“This morning at around 7:30am, the terrorist group carried out the attack from two fronts. Our army dealt with them severely killing dozens of them and maiming several others who are currently on the run and we are pursuing them. The terrorists dead bodies are scattered everywhere. The operation ended in success,” Said the commander of the second battalion of the Jubbaland Darawish army, Mohamud Abdi Ailmooge (Fanax).

Commander Mohamud who exclusively spoke to Radio Kismayo said that the Jubbaland army killed six of the terrorist group and two more others died from gunshot wounds. He also mentioned that they are now in search of three other wounded terrorists who are hiding in the forest area of ​​Janaa Abdalle area.

The commander also confirmed that the Jubbaland army have seized various types of weapons from the terror group.

The area of ​​Janaa Abdalle, which is 60 km from Kismayo, was taken over by Jubbaland in August 2023 last year. It is a strategic area and a transport link in the Gedo region, the Lower Jubba and Middle Jubba regions of Somalia.

The area was a source of income for the terrorist group extorting from the innocent traders and drivers plying the road transporting commercial goods coming from different regions of the country.
