The Banadir Regional Court of Appeal is anticipated to conclude the second hearing on corruption cases involving officials from the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Somalia.
The three defendants filed appeals on the 8th of this month following the court’s announcement of their trials.
The chairman of the court, Said Ali Mohamed, stated that the cases of the three officials are set to conclude today. He emphasized that the Attorney General’s Office has presented all pertinent evidence to the court, forming the foundation for the cases against the accused officials.
However, nearly two months ago, the Banadir Regional Court dropped corruption charges against five government officials from the immigration, tax and labour offices following weeks of televised trials in Mogadishu.
