Speakers of the two chambers of the Somali Parliament have on Sunday appointed ten lawmakers to represent Somalia in the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) and the Inter-Parliamentary Union of IGAD Member States.

Four of the representatives appointed to the PUIC are from the Lower House of Parliament, while the fifth represents the Upper House of Parliament.

In the Inter-Parliamentary Union of IGAD Member States, five members have been appointed, four MPs from the People’s Assembly and the remaining member from the Upper House.

These ten Somali lawmakers will replace the parliamentarians who previously represented the two regional organizations as their term of office has expired.
