The President of Jubbaland State, Ahmed Mohamed Islam has today officiated a forum on humanitarian Coordination in Kismayo.
The forum was attended by the ministers of Humanitarian Affairs and disaster management of the member states of the Federal Somalia and a host of the ministers from the federal government of Somalia, the chairman of the disaster management agency and officials from the Banadir region.
The forum was also attended by the heads of humanitarian organizations and foreign ambassadors based in Mogadishu.
The forum focused on coordinating the issues of drought and floods that have a negative impact on the lives of the Somali people.
The Minister of National Planning, Investment and Economic Development of Somalia, Mohamud Abdirahman Sheikh Farah (Beene Beene) who spoke to the media said that the forum was of critical importance to the Somali people and discussed ways on how to strengthen the humanitarian aid and assistance to the Somali people affected by the drought.
