The summit of the frontline countries came to a close today in Mogadishu and a joint statement was issued by the leaders.

The presidents stressed the urgent need to jointly plan a significant operational strategy against Al-Shabaab, acknowledging the need to mobilize timely support.
They welcomed the Somali government’s request to support and equip the new units of the country’s armed forces.
The presidents also made additional requests to international friends to support Somalia’s stabilization efforts in the newly liberated areas to facilitate government service.
The presidents praised the progress made in Somalia’s arms and ammunition system and supported Somalia’s desire to completely lift the arms embargo by the end of 2023.
The summit welcomed President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s vision to focus on defeating terrorism through military, economic and ideological means.
The conference agreed to speed up joint operations to completely liberate all of Somalia and facilitate the reduction of ATMIS forces.
The summit reiterated the importance of respecting the independence, territorial integrity, political independence and unity of Somalia.
The meeting praised the government and the people of the Federal Republic of Somalia for showing their commitment to rid the country of Al-Shabaab.
The efforts so far carried out by the National Consultative Council towards inclusive politics were recognized and encouraged.
The federal government and the regional governments to organize all efforts in the fight against Al-Shabaab.
