Indian President receives credentials from Somali envoy

Indian President Droupadi Murmu received credentials from four envoys recently posted to India on Friday.

The President received diplomatic papers from Ahmed Ali Dahir, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Francisco Teodoro Maldonado Guevara, Ambassador of the Republic of Ecuador, Dr. Philipp Ackermann, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany and Arunkoemar Hardien, Ambassador of the Republic of Suriname.

Ahmed Ali Dahir, who previously served as Somalia’s Attorney General, said that the Indian government offered congratulatory messages to Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and the newly appointed Cabinet members.

President Murmu condemned last week’s al Shabaab attack on hotel Hayat in Mogadishu, which killed 21 and wounded 117 others.

Ambassador Dahir reiterated consolidating bilateral ties between the governments of Somalia and India.
