The Ministry of Health of Jubbaland state in partnership with Save the Children International Organization has commmenced a vaccination drive against polio in the areas under the control of the Jubbaland regional government.
The vaccination drive is being given to children under the age of 10 years.
According to the head of implementation and awareness department of the Jubbaland Ministry of Health, Isaaq Bashir, the vaccine is being administered orally to the children receiving it.
He called on parents to cooperate with the health workers and inform the correct age of the children who are being vaccinated.
He also pointed out that the children who have already been vaccinated should also again receive the vaccine.
