Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has held a critical meeting with the commanders of the country’s security agencies and AMISOM forces in a bid to discuss and assess the country’s overall security situation.

The meeting focused on strengthening security in the country, especially in the capital Mogadishu, which has been deteriorating in recent weeks.

Prime Minister Roble has also instructed security agencies to focus on stepping up counter-terrorism operations across the country.

The Prime Minister also called on the security forces and the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) to strengthen security in the capital, Mogadishu, for the upcoming polls.

The Prime Minister convened a similar meeting on February 16th, following the recent terrorist attacks in parts of Mogadishu.

The meetings come as the country continues to hold parliamentary polls.
