Somali Minister for Defense Abdikadir Mohamed Nur Jama had an engaging meeting with a top delegation led by the Charge d’Affaires of the Ethiopian Embassy in Somalia Gen. Tadesse Amelo Sieso.
The meeting discussed the general situation berween the two countries, the AMISOM operation in Somalia in which Ethiopia is a part, the National Transition Plan and the future security of the Horn of Africa region.
Minister Abdikadir Mohamed Nur has thanked the Ethiopian government for its efforts in the fight against Al-Shabaab terror group and for the overall peace in Somalia.
There are large numbers of Ethiopian troops in parts of Somalia, operating under the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) and supporting government forces in their fight against destabilizing the Al-Shabab threat in Somalia.
