Members of the international community are expected to hold a private meeting with Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo virtually via ZOOM meeting this afternoon, according to sources.
The meeting was organized by the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) to discuss the political crisis situation in Villa Somalia.

The meeting will also discuss the latest political crisis in the country between President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble and the latter’s suspension.

International pressure on President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo is aimed at ending the crisis in Villa Somalia that has affected the country’s electoral process.

The international community will also meet with Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble to discuss the continuation of parliamentary elections.

Representatives of the international community have previously stated that the current crisis is unacceptable, and welcomed the National Consultative Assembly meeting announced by premier Roble.

International community members also said the election should be completed and the remaining seats in the Somali parliament expedited.

These developments comes at a time when Villa Somalia is embroiled in a crisis over the Farmajo-Roble conflict, which has had a political impact on the country.
