Scholars and Intellectual elites in Kismayo, the interim capital of Jubbaland regional state have expressed disappointment at ongoing forces fighting which has entered its second day in Bossaso, the capital of Bari region.
The fighting has claimed scores of lives and destroyed property.
The Jubbaland Scholars and intellectual elites have called for an immediate cessation of hostilities.
They said it was not appropriate at this time to fight in the midst of the people of Bossaso and urged the Puntland authorities in particular to end the fighting in Bossaso.
The statement from the Jubbaland intellectuals and scholars are part of a series of calls by Somali intellectuals and leaders across the globe demanding for an end to the fighting in Bosaso, Bari region.
