Kismayo District Commissioner, the ministry of interior and the ministry of fisheries of the Jubbaland regional state officials have today visited the Kismayo main fish market where construction work has been going on for the past one year.
Officials inspected parts of the fish market such as the fish section, the dairy section and the offices.
The construction of the main fish market has been completed and now awaiting the official opening to help hundreds of Kismayo fish traders.
The funding for the main Kismayo fish market was made possible by GIZ, a German corporation and was implemented by the Mercy Corps.
Kismayo District Commissioner, Ibrahim Mohamed Yusuf Timo Jilic said the GIZ funded Kismayo main Fish market will be of great benefit to hundreds of fish traders in Kismayo.
The Minister for Fisheries and Marine Resources of the Jubbaland state of Somalia, Abbas Ali Ibrahim, who was among the ministers who visited the Fish market today said the market and its components are accommodative to fish traders adding that its beneficial to the society and the country at large.
