The Governor of Banadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu Mr. Omar Mohamud Mohamed (Omar Filish) and his Lower Shabelle region counterpart Abdikadir Mohamed Nur (Sidi) held separate meetings with AMISOM officials as well as the AMISOM Force Commander in Somalia General Ndegeya Diomede.
The purpose of the meeting was to conduct an immediate investigation into the horrific massacre of civilians by AMISOM forces in Golweyn, Lower Shabelle region.
The mayor of Mogadishu, Omar Filish, and the governor of Lower Shabelle region told AMISOM officials that the killing of seven civilians was unacceptable and that justice should be done to the victims and their families immediately.
