Muniiro Ahmed had been away from her family for three days, but after a long search, her body was found on the Mississippi River under a Minneapolis Bridge.
Munira’s body was recovered from the Mississippi River by emergency services and Minneapolis police.
Minneapolis Police said they were investigating who was behind her killing or whether she fell into the river.
Some members of Munira’s family said they thought their daughter had Minneapolis drowned, but were waiting for an immediate response from Minneapolis police.
Many young Somalis have been killed in Minneapolis in recent years, including the assassination of last week of a Somali national, Mohamed Hussein Hassan.
