The Somali political leaders are expected to end the Aficioni tent poll deliberations today amidst high expectations from the conference.
The election agreement is set to be signed today at the Aficiooni tent following a week-long talk between the Prime Minister of Somalia, the presidents of the Somali regional administrations and the Benadir region.
Somali leaders are expected to issue an official statement today, outlining their agreement on Somalia’s elections.
The conference will be attended by the Prime Minister, heads of regional administrations and the governor of Benadir, while former presidents Sheikh Sharif, Hassan Sheikh and President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo have also been invited among other officials.
Reports indicate that the agreement will be the majority of the agreement reached by the technical committees in Baidoa on February 15-16, 2021.
Preparations for the event are now ongoing in Aficioni tent in Mogadishu, which officially will be winding up the elections deliberations country.
