Somali government discusses elections with UK government

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Communications, Mohamed Abdirizak Mohamud has received in Mogadishu, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom (UK) to the Federal Republic of Somalia, Ms. Kate Foster, to discuss the historic friendly relations between the two countries and the bilateral cooperation process and ways to improve different aspects.

During the course of the meeting, the two sides discussed several issues related to policy and security, as well as the regional situation and international partnership.

According to reports from the meeting, the two leaders discussed Somalia’s elections and how to hold inclusive poll in the country.

The United Kingdom is one of the main donors to Somalia and is assisting in the areas of economic security and other issues, including the conduct of the elections.
