The chairman of the African Union Commission has condemned the Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip and the “Israeli attack” on worshipers at the Al Aqsa Mosque.
Moussa Faki Mahamat said military operations by Israel and the forceful evictions of Palestinians from their homes goes against international regulations.
“The chairman of the African Union Commission condemns the bombing of the Gaza Strip that killed more than 21 Palestinians and the Israeli attack on worshipers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque that injured 300 people during Ramadan.” A statement from the African Union said.
Hamas says it has fired rockets in Tel Aviv and its environs in response to “enemy targets.”
The Israeli military says it is targeting militants in Gaza in response to previous rocket attacks.
