Qatar, UK discuss Somalia situation

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Qatar,  Al- Sheikh Mohamed Bin Abdirahman AlThani met with the UK Special Representative for Africa Julian Reyli to discuss the political situation in Somalia.

The Qatari news agency Qana reported that the minister briefed the UK envoy to Africa on the Qatari government’s efforts to bring the Somali parties to an agreement on the country’s elections and general policy, in order to maintain stability and peace in the Horn of Africa nation.

The UK Special Representative for Africa has praised the Qatari government for its role in ensuring free and fair elections in Somalia, as there is no more time to waste.

The two leaders also focused on Sudanese politics.
