Somalia, Tunisia discuss bilateral relations

Somali Minister for Foreign Affairs Mohamed Abdirizak Mohamud had a telephone conversation with his Tunisian counterpart and discussed a host of issues that directly impacts on the two countries.

During the telephone conversation, the two ministers reaffirmed the strengthening of brotherly relations and consultations between the two countries both at the Arab and African levels.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia expressed his government’s recognition of the active role played by Tunisia as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2020-2021 term, in the interests of issues of Arab and African countries in the Council, and participation in the search for peace and security in the Arab world and the African continent.

On his part, the Tunisian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Immigration and the Diaspora expressed his support for the political process in Somalia, and for maintaining its territorial integrity for the benefit of the Somali people and its security.
