Ethiopia sends strong warning to Sudan as tension between the two countries grows

The Ethiopian government has issued a warning to Sudan saying it has lost patience with the country following the deployment of troops. The failed efforts to resolve the crisis along the border of the two countries.

The 10-year-old conflict between Sudan and Ethiopia is based on al-Fashqa, a rich agricultural area on the Sudanese map that has long been inhabited by Ethiopian farmers.

Troops from both sides clashed on the border two weeks ago. “On the Sudanese side, they seem to want to escalate the situation,” Ethiopian Foreign Ministry spokesman Dina Mufti told reporters in Addis Ababa.

Asked if Ethiopia would go to war, he said it was good for diplomacy to work first.
