The President of the Jubaland State of Somalia Ahmed Mohammed Islam has issued a condition to the Gedo region Somali upcoming elections.
The Jubbaland state President has called on the Federal Government of Somalia to withdraw its troops from the Gedo region before the elections, otherwise there will be no elections there.
Ahmed Mohamed Islam has accused the forces of the federal government of Somalia of “destroying the administrations in Gedo region”.
Garbaharey, the capital of Gedo region and Kismayo are the two towns in the Jubaland state that are scheduled to hold elections for the federal parliamentarians of the Jubbaland state.
