Key Road Intersections Closed Down In Mogadishu As Puntland State President Meets With Upper House Committee


Roads near the intersection of Mana Bolio and other intersections near the Upper house of the Somali parliament in Somalia’s Capital Mogadishu have been closed this morning with troops in armored vehicles blocking traffic.

The major roads and intersections have been closed down to give way to Puntland State President and his Puntland delegation.

The President of Puntland State of Somalia Sacid Abdullahi Deni is scheduled to meet with members of the Standing Committee of the Upper House of the Somali Parliament today.

A source privy to the meeting disclosed to Radio Kismayo that the meeting will be discussing issues of the upcoming Somali elections, political transitions throughout the country among other issues.

The Upper house Standing Committee has been informed that they will be attending the meeting which will open at 11:00 am this morning.

The Somali upper house is at loggerheads with President Farmajo whom they had previously been accused of violating the law although the allegations have not yet been answered by the Somali president.
