Jubbaland And Puntland States Presidents To Arrive In Mogadishu Today Ahead Of Special Meeting


Somali government forces have closed down major roads in Mogadishu ahead of the arrival of the federal member state heads of Puntland and Jubbaland in the Somali capital.

Public transport and road traffic has been re-directed from the city’s main roads set for the use by the two state Presidents and their delegation. Several traffic roads have been blocked by the military while others had spikes placed on it.

Hundreds of Mogadishu residents are being taken off the major streets of Mogadishu as traffic grounds to a halt in several roads.

The President of Puntland Saciid Abdullahi Deni and Jubbaland state President Ahmed Mohamed Islam are scheduled to arrive in the capital Mogadishu today where they are expected to meet with Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo.

The two federal member states Presidents are expected to hold talks with federal government officials and the Federal President on the outcome of the third phase of Dhusamareb consultative conference which was held in Galmudug regional state of Somalia.

Jubbaland State President Ahmed Mohamed Islam is expected to leave for Mogadishu shortly from Kismayu’s Sayyid Mohammed Abdille Hassan airport in Kismayu.
