A host of small meetings was today witnessed in the ongoing Somali heads meeting in the Central City of Dhusamareeb, Galmudug Regional State of Somalia.
The meeting which is currently hosting a delegation of Somali Federal government officials led by Somali President Mohammed Abdullahi Farmajo and his Prime Minster Hassan Ali Kheyre with Somalia’s Regional Presidents.
Also in attendance are Somalia civil society rights groups who are partaking in a meeting with the delegations.
Chairman of the Jubbaland civil rights society group Prof. Abdullahi Sheikh Shafici said they met with President Farmajo and other Regional state Presidents in Dhusamareeb and talked extensively on matters of nation building as well as urging the political leaders to exercise sobriety, political harmony and restraint adding that the Somali people are expecting the crucial meeting to be fruitful and chart the way forward for the Nation.
Prof. Shafici also faulted reports circulating in the media that the Civil rights groups are rooting for one- person, one vote system saying that they only talked of a mutual understanding between all stakeholders on the best way of conducting the Somalia’s upcoming elections.
The civil society rights chair called on the people to dismiss falsified reports in the media emanating from the Dhusamareeb meeting adding that the civil society rights group only went to the high level meeting to voice their opinion on matters affecting the nation.
Shafici also expressed his satisfaction of the Dhusamareeb meeting saying its a step in the right direction towards building a cohesive and harmonious Somalia by bringing on the same table all the country leaders.
